9:30 a.m.
We continued on a two-hour schedule throughout the night with the morphine. Dean would calm down for most of that time, then begin to stir and make audible sounds. At 2 a.m. I noticed his arms and hands were extremely hot. We began tylenol suppositories every four hours and are using cool wet cloths. Since 3 a.m. he has been quiet and resting. The gurgling has stopped and he is relaxed and sleeping. His breathing is shallow but steady. The hospice nurse called again just now to check on him and us and emphasized that the important thing now is for Dean's comfort. Jonathan is sleeping on the loveseat and I'm on the couch so we very near.
