First Meeting with Dr. Pierce

Dr. Pierce is in the same building, the Salem Hospital Center for Outpatient Medicine (COM) where Dean had the MRIs. Unfortunately it is a busy place. Dean was weighed (clothes and all 182). Dr. Pierce was no nonsense and gave us the news that there were 2 good-sized tumors in his brain and 7 or 8 'seedlings', a mass in his right lung, a 2" tumor in his liver (not the kidney-maybe I heard the other doctor wrong), and in both his adrenal glands. He said he wanted to get him to the radiation doctors asap to deal with the brain tumors and we'd meet when him after to address the rest.

He put him on a steroid for swelling in his brain and said he would order a biopsy on the liver as it's the easiest to get at. They took blood for some tests and we went home to nap as we hadn't slept well or enough last night. Before we got home, Dr. Hennig's office had called with an appointment time for next Tuesday.
